The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder, and we all know what that means… the winter months are approaching. I know, I know, we still have fall. I need to slow down. I appreciate the coziness of winter but it still saddens me to watch all of my beautiful pots slowly start to fade. If you did your planters this spring with cold tolerant plants you’ll be happy to know those plants that are barely hanging on will likely start perking back up.
Geraniums, snap dragons, pansies, dusty miller, dianthus, alyssum, viola, and my personal favorites, flowering kale/cabbage. These are all plants (I’m sure I forgot a few, these are just what we typically have in stock) that can withstand the colder temperatures. Mums and Asters however, are typically your focal point for fall bloomers. Because of the abundant amount of blooms on the plant at all times, they tend to really catch the eye.
However, they are not re-bloomers so it’s ideal to wait until your summer planters are completely toast, or be sure to add a few plants that haven’t come fully into bloom yet.
Oh Gourd! I forgot to mention, we also offer an all Season Custom Container Program… this ensures your planters will never be empty!!! 🍁🍁 For more info please pm us or call 402-392-1444
