Fresh Cut Christmas Trees
These are high quality, fresh cut Christmas trees that are often still dusted in snow when they arrive at the garden shop. Once we receive them (generally the week before Thanksgiving) the trees are untied and hung up for display, which maintains their shape and allows them to be inspected from all angles.
Our Christmas tree selection includes a variety of species, ranging in size from 3’-10’, so you will be sure to find the perfect tree for your space.
...Wait, there are different species of Christmas trees?!
Here are a few varieties we like to carry, and a little bit of information about each one, to help you decide which type of holiday tree is best for you:
Balsam Fir is very fragrant and has a symmetrical pyramidal shape. It won’t drop its dark brown needles all over your house. The branches are quite flexible, so they aren’t ideal for supporting heavy ornaments.
Fraser Fir also has that classic Christmas fragrance, and won’t make a mess of your house by dropping its needles all over. The Fraser fir is a little more dense than the Balsam fir, and its sturdier branches are better able to support heavy ornaments.
Scotch Pine has a strong pine fragrance, which smells different than fir (come stick your nose in our trees…) It often has an irregular shape. Its needles are short for a pine (although longer than a fir), and the tree holds on to them fairly well.
White Pine doesn’t have much of a fragrance. The tree looks soft to the touch, and has an open appearance. It might drop some of its long, light green needles if the tree is left up for too long or allowed to dry out. The branches are flexible, so not ideal for heavy ornaments.
Once you select your perfect Christmas tree, we will make a fresh cut on the trunk, to optimize water uptake once it gets home. We will then load the tree onto your vehicle, or if you prefer, we can deliver it to your house. It is important to keep your Christmas tree watered once you get it home, to keep it looking fresh and beautiful for as long as possible.
