We carry an eclectic selection of clothing, hats, jewelry, and handbags. We love supporting fair-trade and local makers whenever we can, and we are always on the lookout for interesting new items to offer our clients, so you never know exactly what treasures await you! (but here are some examples of goodies you might find):

Wallaroo Hats--people love these amazing sun hats and ask for them by name. Wallaroo hats are very well made, and come in a variety of styles and sizes, with adjustable headbands for a perfect fit. They offer UV protection to protect your face from the sun while you are gardening or enjoying the outdoors.

Clever t-shirts--sometimes when a saying makes us giggle, we put it on a shirt so we
can wear it around all day. T-shirts feature screen-printing and tie-dye by local artists.

Unusual jewelry from around the world, and right here in Omaha--whether it’s wooden butterfly earrings sourced from Jamaica, fair-trade bracelets made from recycled pop tabs and paper beads, or a one-of-a-kind necklace created by a local artist, something is sure to catch your eye.

Fair-trade purses and bags--it could be a beautiful hand painted messenger bag, a handbag made from recycled tires, or a vibrant little coin purse from Uganda--these bags make awesome gifts and support a great cause as well!

Handmade Fair Trade Gifts
Fair Trade is one of the coolest ways to put your money where your mouth is ;) The Fair Trade Community provides a way for impoverished people (often women and children) to develop skills and earn a living.  Fair trade is a very sustainable method to protect the rights and earning capabilities for people that need it most.  By purchasing Fair Trade items, you not only support your local businesses, you also support a way of life for those living without.

There are many different groups participating in Fair Trade programs.  Some of the groups represented in our Gift Shop at Dee-sign Garden Center are:

All of these groups are members of what is called the 'Fair Trade Federation'
